Designed by Amber Lewis for Visual Comfort Signature, the Laken desk lamp sets two finishes against each other: polished nickel for the metalwork and black rattan for the accent details. Nickel is the reflective, hard-edged element; rattan is woven and matte. That contrast is the whole design idea — a piece that reads as neither purely modern nor purely natural.

A matte white shade sits above, diffusing rather than reflecting, which keeps the light soft on a work surface. The lamp stands 17.25 inches tall and extends 14 inches, so it reaches across a desk rather than sitting straight up beside it — useful when you want light over a work area but the lamp itself set back from it.

An inline line switch on the cord keeps the control off the fixture body. It takes one E12 candelabra base B11 LED bulb up to 6.5W. At 3 lb it's light enough to move between a desk and a side table without difficulty. ETL listed and dry rated for indoor use.
