The Ruthin pairs two materials that don't usually appear together: swooping steel metalwork in an aged brass finish, and natural rattan for both the shades and the wrapped base. The steel gives the frame its curved, sculptural line; the rattan softens it and breaks up the light as it passes through the weave.

The swivel heads are the functional argument for this lamp. Both shades adjust independently, so the two light sources can be aimed rather than left fixed — useful behind a sofa or beside a chair where you want directional task light on one side and ambient on the other. A full-range dimmer sits on the socket, giving continuous control rather than fixed steps.
